Classic paint . . .

Classic cars generally require a lot more TLC, preparation and manipulating than your ordinary run of the mill body work. Often they involve bare metalling so as to expose the condition of the body work under the lashings of household dulux that many not so caring owners have applied over the years with a cricket bat.

Once you've got the metal clean and can physically see the extent of the damage, you can then get to work removing all the rot and suspect areas, replacing with new metal of the same guage, finding all the original seams and lines and basically starting fresh. Once you've got to this level, you can then start the normal task of preparing and painting the car back to its former glory. Using the latest paint technology, its quite surprising how authentic the finish can be to the original and yet many times more durable.
